A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon the cutest gingham top for sprint at Zara. It was a little shorter than I’d like (you’ll see from the pics that it makes my torso look even shorter than normal) but I didn’t care – it was too cute to pass up. I picked it up and the weather immediately turned cooler, so I haven’t had many chances to style it so far this spring. But this past week, before the plague hit our house (again!) I paired it with dark skinnies and my favourite yellow pumps from last summer. My goes-with-anything Louis Vuitton Damien Ebene MM tote and a simple navy cardigan rounded out this look that is perfect for the transitional phase between spring and summer that seems to last far too long here in Alberta.
I love that I can wear this top multiple ways. I can dress it down by pairing it with cute flats and distressed denim, or I can dress it up a bit with vegan leather leggings and a sleek evening bag. I think will also look super cute with a straw fedora (check out my favourite one here) and cut off shorts, which I plan to try as soon as the weather warms up.
Gingham is huge again this summer (yay!) and I’ve found some other perfect options linked below.
And although my favourite yellow pumps are from last season, there are lots of fabulous options available this year as well.
Although the slightly cropped length does make me look a bit shorter on top than I actually am, I don’t mind it so much. The loose styling will be cool on warmer days and the fit overall is true to size and very comfortable. At $40, this top is definitely a great style steal, but if a shorter length isn’t your jam, don’t worry. With so many adorable gingham tops everywhere this spring, your sure to find one that you love!
Enjoy the pretty things in life,
