I am a self-professed sweater junkie. Honestly, I don’t even know how many pullovers I have, let alone cardigans. They are the number one thing I gravitate to in stores and online, and although I try to purge them as often as possible, I have too many I love to really make a difference in my overall numbers. I live in Alberta – a cold climate for much of the year, so I supposed it’s my way of coping, and honestly, it’s what makes this barren, frozen place more bearable for me. At least I have my pretty and cozy sweaters when the daylight is scarce and I can’t feel my face because the wind chill is so bad.
I love all kids of sweaters, from classic pullovers to trendy pieces and while I’m willing to invest in a timeless cashmere v-neck, I’m not as willing to do so for something more trendy, which is why I love online retailers like SheIn.
This style of cozy waffle knit sweater has been a blogger favourite throughout the fall and early winter and it has been produced in a number of colours by several retailers and at a variety of price points. This burnt orange version is currently available (as well as in black and ivory) for $28, which is a great price point for a trendier sweater. My favourite part of this cozy sweater – it’s not the least bit itchy, which is a big deal. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve fallen in love with a sweater only to have to walk away because the yarn is making me crazy. This one is soft, warm without being too heavy, and layers so well, which is my favourite way of wearing it. In terms of sizing, it is listed as one size, which I would put at a typical Medium. All in all, this is a beautiful sweater at a fabulous price point and I highly recommend it.
A grey marled sweater is always a good idea, and the fun hemline on this one makes it a bit more trendy than other styles. It’s also another style steal at $18. I love pairing the dark grey with cognac for a pop of colour. This sweater is a bit shorter and more fitted than others I wear, but it’s definitely not a cropped sweater, which is a very good thing. (I am NOT a fan.) This is another soft knit that is listed as one size, but this is definitely not a one size fits all sweater – it is more streamlined and I would list it as being closer to a Small. It’s fun and warm, a perfect combo for chilly winter days.
One tip for first time SheIn customers – read the reviews and look at all the pictures available when looking at items on their site. Sometimes, the styles shared can be slightly shorter in real life and while some people love cropped sweaters, I am not one of those people. Read the reviews and see if there are real-life pictures of the item you’re considering to get a proper sense of the fit. As for these two sweaters, I do feel that they fit true to size. And I absolutely love them!
Enjoy the pretty things in life,
