The holidays are probably one of the most popular times to buy new pyjamas. Maybe it’s because the CUTEST pjs seem to make their appearance at this time of year, or because they make great gifts, or because we just want to look good while opening presents; no matter what the reason for buying them (whether it’s for yourself or someone else), there are so many great pj styles to choose from.
We have a family tradition of always finding a new pair of pjs under the Christmas tree. So with that as my inspiration, today I’m sharing some great options that are sure to brighten the holiday season!
The Thermal or Legging-Style PJs
I am a huge fan of legging-style pjs, especially thermal ones. They are perfect for lounging in, comfy to sleep in, and they look fantastic, so I never feel guilty for a day spent entirely in pyjamas. Some of the best ones out there these days, both for style and affordability are from Old Navy. But I’ve also found great ones at Target (FYI Canadian gals – Target now ships to Canada, just saying), Nordstrom, and J. Crew.
The Flannel Set
These are a classic and what most people think of when they think holiday pyjamas. These styles will keep you warm and cozy all winter long, which here in Canada, is definitely needed.
I love a sleepshirt, especially a plaid or flannel (or both!!) one. They are super comfortable to sleep in and will keep you from over-heating, if you’re one of those “one foot hanging out of the bed to get cool” sleepers (I am one of these people, although I am usually freezing the rest of the time). Pair them with cable knit over the knee socks (say that five times fast, lol) and you’ll look super cute on Christmas morning too!
The Fancy PJs and Robe
Sometimes you need some fancy pjs – I’m talking silk or satin luxurious pjs that make you feel like a princess. And everyone needs a good robe – I am a huge fan of short, kimono-style ones that are just a bit more stylish than an overwhelming fuzzy one.
Although it is getting closer to Christmas, there are still lots of great pj styles available to brighten up the holidays, including my favourites above. Whether you’re buying them for yourself or as a gift, you can’t go wrong with any of these cute picks.
Enjoy the pretty things in life,
