With the holidays just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to start jazzing up your nails a bit. I love a fancier manicure over the holiday season and today I sharing a quick and super easy sparkly grey manicure that reminds me of fresh fallen snow and twinkling Christmas lights.
This manicure is so easy to do and is neutral enough to go with anything. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that having a mani that clashes with my outfit makes me a bit crazy (I have obsessions with the weirdest things!) so I like something that stands out but works with lots of colours.
To start, I used one coat of Essie’s Cabana Boy on all of my nails and allowed it to fully dry. Another great option would be Essie’s Go With The Flowy. Once I decided which nails I wanted to have my sparkles on, I painted a second and third coat on the remaining three nails on each hand, allowing them to dry thoroughly between coats. I chose my pinky and pointer fingers for the glitter polish and applied two coats of glitter polish (I used OPI’s Super Star Status but I also love Essie’s Set In Stones). After allowing them to dry completely (I actually waited until the next day), I used a top coat to add high shine to the grey nails and to smooth out the glitter nails. And voila! Perfect holiday nails that require no more effort than your regular manicure!
My Top Picks
I love the idea of this manicure with other shades as well. The silver glitter would look gorgeous with whites and pale pinks, like Essie’s Blanc or Coconut Cove for white and Go-Go Geisha or OPI’s Mod About You for pale pink. If you have any nail jewels, this is the perfect manicure to incorporate them in. A couple of tiny crystals placed delicately on your ring and middle fingernails would be even more gorgeous. (I didn’t have any, but I may pick some up to recreate this look closer to Christmas.)
Pretty, sparkly nails are perfect for the holidays and you don’t have to leave home to get them. Try out this pretty manicure and let me know what you think!
Enjoy the pretty things in life,
