I don’t often think to wear florals in the winter, but this super cute dress from Zaful has changed that! I was instantly drawn to the deep plum, burgundy, and green floral pattern and the easy-to-wear structure of the dress, which can easily be dressed up or down.
I’ve worn this dress with green, burgundy and plum (as shown above) cardigans because it is still very chilly in Alberta (it is February after all), but I also love it on its own. The linen fabric also means that it will translate easily to spring and fall, and maybe even the odd summer day, as it has roll-up sleeves and a loose construction that will keep me cool. I love that it is a versatile piece!
One slightly strange thing about this dress, and several others that I have my eye on on the Zaful site – they are one size. I am not a fan of this in any way, and I do find it very strange that they would size items this way. I have seen it with cardigans and sweaters on similar sites (such as SheIn and Romwe), but a sweater is a bit different than a dress. When sizing an item like this, bear in mind the fabric and whether it will have any stretch. This dress is linen (which I considered a bit surprising for a fast-fashion outlet), so I knew right away that it would not have any stretch. To give you a bit of a reference point, I am a size 2 in dresses and this one does fit me rather loosely, as it is designed to. I should note that it is on the shorter side – I have a short torso and longer legs, again for reference. So while the material and structure of the dress are lovely, it is not without its quirks.
Do you wear floral patterns in the winter? Or do you think more of spring and summer when you see flowers? Let me know your thoughts on this dress in the comments below, I’d love to hear them!
Enjoy the pretty things in life,
