By request, I’ve put together a bit of an Instagram Roundup. I’ve compiled some recent outfit of the day posts and listed where I found the items featured. Right off the bat, I will say that although it may seem like I’m constantly shopping, there are quite a few staples that I rotate into my outfits on a regular basis, many of which I have owned for some time. In those cases, I’ve tried to give you a sense of where to find similar items today.
The thing I love about Instagram is the great street style inspiration I can find there, as well as the variety of ways that people are incorporating popular fashion trends. I love finding photos that make me think of how to shop my own closet and create new combinations from the pieces I own and love (or have recently found in my favourite shops!). I use this inspiration almost daily, and as you’ll see below, I love to take much-loved items and rework them in different and interesting ways. This past week, I was feeling a bit under the weather and lost some of my creativity, but this Instagram roundup has reminded me how fun it is to come up with different combinations that express my own personal style.
Enjoy the pretty things in life,
Sweater – Winners | Jeans – American Eagle Outfitters Jegging Jeans | Boots – Sam Edelman ‘Penny’ | Bag – Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 | Watch – Michael Kors
Yes, I am absolutely THAT girl – the one who finds something I love and buys it in almost every available colour. Like my Forever 21 cardigans. Or perfect poncho sweaters, like this gray twin to my forest green one. Seriously. I just went in to Winners to look around for a few minutes…..This is what happens when your office is adjacent to a mall.
Blanket Scarf and Cardigan – Garage | T-Shirt – Zara| Pants – H&M | Booties – Kenneth Cole Reaction | Bag – Tory Burch Robinson Square Tote | Wrap Bracelet – Tory Burch | Watch – Michael Kors
Both my bag and booties are from last season, but there are so many options this season when it comes to booties that I couldn’t possibly list them all and my bag is a classic Tory Burch style that is available every season in a variety of colours. It’s also incredibly versatile and perfect for work.
Shirt, Sweater & Necklace – Forever 21 | Pants – American Eagle Outfitters Sateen Jegging Pants | Shoes – Sam Edelman | Bag – Louis Vuitton Neverful MM | Bracelet – J. Crew
Crisp shirts and soft cardigans are always a good idea, for work or play. Add some sleek black skinnies and leopard heels and you’ve got a perfect #ootd. My pants are from last winter, but an almost identical style is still available at American Eagle Outfitters.
Dress – Gap | Sweater – Forever 21 | Boots – Sam Edelman ‘Penny’ Boots | Bag – Tory Burch Robinson Square Tote | Necklace – Banana Republic
The best part about this dress is that I wore it as a bridesmaid in my dear friend Patricia’s wedding in 2012. Although it’s no longer available, there is no shortage of little black dresses out there that can be dressed up or dressed down. J. Crew, J. Crew Factory, and Banana Republic always have lots of pretty options available.
Shirt – Forever 21 | Pants – H&M | Shoes – Sam Edelman | Bag – Tory Burch Robinson Square Tote | Necklace – J. Crew | Watch – Michael Kors
This outfit was inspired by one of my favourite Instagram bloggers @chicstreetstyle. She has some fantastic looks – like her combination of olive skinny pants, a chambray shirt, and classic pearls. I recreated the look in my way, using the pieces above. I love chambray shirts by J. Crew and Forever 21, so while this one may no longer be available, there is definitely a plethora of options still available at some of my favourite shops.
Shirt & Shoes – Zara | Jeans – Current/Elliot Stilleto Jeans | Bag – Tory Burch Robinson Square Tote | Necklace – J. Crew | Wrap Bracelet – Tory Burch | Watch – Michael Kors
Plaid is still my most loved pattern this fall and honestly, if I didn’t think that people would get sick of seeing it, I’d wear it every day. All of these pieces are recent, with the exception of my pearls, which are almost always in stock and my Tory Burch bag, which is still available in some great fall colours.
Shirt – Old Navy | Jeans – J Brand Love Story Jeans | Shoes – Nine West | Bag – Tory Burch Neverfull MM | Necklace and Bracelet – J. Crew | Watch – Michael Kors
I just picked up this plaid shirt from Old Navy for under $30. It’s the softest one I own and the colours are so fun! My J. Brand jeans are a few years old, but they have lots of great flared and boot cut options currently available.
Sweater – Garage | Sleeveless Top – Express | Leather Leggings – H&M | Shoes – Halogen, from Nordstrom | Bag – Tory Burch Robinson Middy Satchel | Necklace – Forever 21 | Bracelet – J. Crew | Watch – Michael Kors
As you may have already noticed, I am a huge fan of neutrals. Mixing olive green with my favourite leather leggings just felt right. Although they are not currently available, H&M does have some great coated denim options that would look similar. These Halogen flats are one of Nordstrom’s most popular items and are loved by style and fashion bloggers everywhere and it’s no wonder why – they are incredibly comfortable, even after an eight hour work day. Unfortunately, the Tory Burch Robinson Middy Satchel is currently unavailable, but I suspect it will come back soon because it is such a popular style.
