Need an easy outfit idea for the holidays? Well, you can’t go wrong with a good sweater dress. Whether it’s for the family Christmas dinner or a more causal holiday party, a sweater dress will let you feel comfy and cozy while still looking out together.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you probably already know that I love my sweater dresses, as seen all over my Instagram. Somehow I’ve ended up with a plethora of taupe and brown sweater dresses (all slightly different, but still in the same colour tone), so this fall I’ve been looking everywhere for some other options. I’m also pretty picky about my sweater dress choices (to be fair, I’m picky about a ton of my clothing choices), so I wasn’t having much luck until I found this one. I first looked at the cream cable knit version below, and while I love it (and ordered it on sale this past weekend) I was more intrigued by the fun knit featured in the olive green version, which I’ve been wanting to wear every day since I got it.
The knit is sort of a popcorn stitch (a true knitter would probably know exactly what this stitch is called, but I didn’t have time to call my mom and ask and the closest that I know is the popcorn stitch) and the mix of navy and olive yarn really plays up the fun texture. It fits true to size (I’m wearing a Small), so if you prefer a looser fit, I recommend sizing up.
For this look, I paired it with my favourite Goodnight Macaroon otk taupe boots, which I have been raving over since I got them. They are hands down the closest dupe to Stuart Weitzman otk boots I have ever found and they’re hugely popular with nearly every blogger out there, including some who actually own the SW Highland boots. They are vegan suede, but it’s by far the highest quality version I have ever felt or seen. They look much more expensive than they are (and until Thursday morning – December 7 – they’re 30% off!) and in my opinion, worth every penny (including duty!). They do run small, so size up half a size to one full size – they recently expanded their sizing and the boots are now available up to size US 11!
I love and easy to throw together outfit that still looks polished and this one definitely fits the bill. At under $50 (ignore the prices showing on the links – they reflect full price and this dress is on major sale), this dress is a style steal and I can’t wait to get my hands on the cream version later this week and style it!
Enjoy the pretty things in life,
