This twirl-worthy satin skirt is the perfect addition to your holiday wardrobe. It’s versatile, can be dressed up or down, and makes a statement in a more subtle way than something with sequins or feathers. Now don’t get me wrong – obviously I love sequins, and feathers can be great on a skirt too, but when I saw this one, I knew it was exactly what I needed for my holiday style this year.
I’ve paired it a few different ways, and have even more looks in mind for the post-holiday season, but today I’m sharing two of my favourite ways to wear this pretty skirt that will keep you warm and feeling festive. For the first look, I combined one of my favourite affordable sweaters, go-to pearl statement necklace, and a plaid scarf to create an easy holiday look that is perfect for the office. My favourite black bag and booties and the most comfortable tights ever round out this fun look.
For my second look, I swapped out my navy sweater and plaid scarf for a plain white tee and cozy cardigan, going for a more casual look that is perfect for Christmas Day dinner or a family get-together. Patent leather heels add a fun touch that can dress things up a bit, but this look would also be fantastic with the booties pictured in my first look.
This skirt would also look perfect with plaid (I had every intention of combining my favourite plaid shirt with the skirt but didn’t get there in time for this post) or with an oversize cozy sweater (which I plan to try in the new year). On cold days, swap booties out for over the knee boots or dark riding boots to keep your legs warm. And to really dress things up, I love the idea of this skirt with a dressy sleeveless top, maybe with a few sequins for New Year’s Eve. ✨
Although I love this skirt (and it’s under $40 price tag!), I’ve linked a few other options to make your shopping and styling easier, including some that are under $20! Just a quick note that the skirt I am wearing is definitely not true to size and you will need to size up (I normally wear a size 0-2 and needed a 6 in this skirt). I’ve also linked some great alternatives to one of my favourite classic bags, which is sadly no longer available.
Christmas and New Year’s is right around the corner, and this fun satin skirt is the perfect way to celebrate! But trust me when I say that you won’t be putting it away any time soon, because this skirt will definitely work all winter long, especially with some of the styling tips I’ve recommended above.
Enjoy the pretty things in life,
