It’s been a while since I posted a makeup review, so I thought today I would share three of my current favourite products, all of which are going to be sticking around in my routine for quite some time!
Anastasia Dip Brow in Medium Brown – $23.00
After years of hearing how amazing it was, I finally caved and picked up Anastasia Dip Brow about a month ago and I immediately wondered why I waited so long. This product is life changing if you have less than stellar eyebrows, like me. Although I had finally found a great pencil (which I discussed here) I always found it difficult to get the lighter coverage at the start of my brows that more closely mimics how your natural brows look. Getting that lighter consistency at the start while still emphasizing the rest of the brow is much easier with the Dip Brow. The range of colours makes it easy to find your match, though I do recommend visiting Sephora if possible to have them recommend the perfect shade. I had a hard time choosing between Ash Brown and Medium Brown and definitely appreciated the recommendation (the Medium Brown) from their experts. I use a flat angle brush I already owned instead of the Anastasia one and it works just fine, though I do recommend wiping off excess between uses and dampening the brush slightly before applying. Also, be sure to close this product very tightly and it will last you for ages and ages, which makes it a steal at $23!
Urban Decay Naked2 Basics – $36.00
This is my go-to eye shadow palette these days – the colours are perfectly neutral and best of all, there’s not a hint of shimmer, a definite dislike of mine when it comes to shadow. I find matte shadow much easier to wear and the shades in this palette allow you to create a simple every day look and a more dramatic smoky look, depending on your mood. The colours are highly pigmented, so you don’t need a lot to get perfect coverage, which is also a plus. At a fraction of the price of the full-size Naked palettes, without any of the shimmery shades that I tend not to use anyway, I am a huge fan of this product.
This is my favourite nude lip colour ever. Don’t let the online photo fool you, this shade is not nearly as pink as the picture would lead you to think. It is definitely more of a blush nude and it is great on light to medium skin tones. The opaque, highly-pigmented formula provides great coverage, which is sometimes difficult to find with nude shades, and it leaves your lips feeling conditioned and soft after using it. It is definitely a lip product a recommend.
