I took a bit of a blogging vacation at the end of last week to recharge and refresh. But while I wasn’t writing, the creative juices kept flowing and I started outfit planning and thinking back to some recent favourite looks, like the one pictured above.
Black on black is a new favourite of mine. In fact, neutrals in general seem to be my colour palette of choice these days. I am loving more muted tones of deeper colours like olive green and burgundy and of course I have tons of love for my cream and grey staples, but there is something effortlessly chic about pairing black with black.
I mentioned in my Winter Boho Vibes post that I am also loving loose dresses this winter, especially paired with opaque tights, boots or booties, and oversized sweaters. This cardigan was a recent find that is as soft as can be and looks perfect with jeans or with a dress, as shown here. The bonus – it was on sale and totally affordable. While the pure black is no longer available online, a marled black version can be found here and the pure black can still be found in stores, along with an ivory version. This dress was also a post-Christmas sale find and it is still available online and in stores. And of course these booties are my latest obsession, with very good reason – they are so comfortable, the perfect height, and a timeless mix of dressy and casual style (hurry though, if you’re thinking of buying them because there are only a few sizes left!).
Maybe it’s something about this time of year, but simplifying my style has been a recent focus for me as I think about the year ahead. Black on black is a timeless combination and I will definitely be repeating it.
Enjoy the pretty things in life,
(Also, yes, I need a new pose that doesn’t include me touching my hair!)
